A "NOT SO HAPPY" NEW YEAR -- Thursday December 31st, 2009
We would love to wish everyone a Happy New Year, but for the thousands of homeless cats in Georgia Animal Control facilities right now, the New Year will bring suffering and death. These precious creatures are so full of fear and sadness because they know that the person who once loved them is never coming back. They sit in small, cramped cages, hoping that some kind person will come along and take them home. Sadly, for most of these animals, this day will never come. For those in one of Georgia's many "Gas Chamber" facilities, they will soon suffer a horrific, painful death. It's hard to celebrate when there are so many that will be tortured and killed....It's hard to celebrate, knowing that no matter how many we are able to save, we cannot save them all.
In 2009 we rescued and placed nearly 600 cats. This year, we are committed to saving many, many more. However, we cannot do it without your help. Let's make it a truly Happy New Year. Time is running out so please make a tax-deductible donation today! Together we can stop the suffering and change the fate of so many deserving cats in need. And what better way to celebrate the New Year by saving a life!

The Trendy Thing to Do -- Thursday July 16th, 2009
"Adopt a Pet...Not a Pedigree"
In this country, Popularity is a powerful thing. The "Go-Green" movement is sweeping the country by storm, all for the good of the planet. Green houses, hybrid cars, reusable shopping bags, chemical-free and recycled products, you name it, it's for sale. And people want it. Why?
Because saving the planet has become very "trendy" lately. People aren't just talking about saving the planet anymore...they are doing something about it. I personally long for the day when saving homeless animals becomes trendy...when the influential and wealthy stop going to pet stores because buying a $3,000 tea-cup chihuhua puppy is socially unacceptable, like wearing a fur coat in public...when people stop talking about the show they saw on Animal Planet and start doing something about it...when "Adopting a pet, not a pedigree", becomes the trendy thing to do. Until that day comes, shelter pets will continue to die by the masses".
